Originally from Santa Barbara, California, Jack Sharkey, PA-C, is passionate about delivering personalized dermatologic care that addresses both medical concerns and aesthetic goals. His drive for dermatology is deeply personal: his own experience managing his psoriasis gives him a unique, firsthand understanding of the challenges associated with chronic skin conditions, fueling his dedication to compassionate, patient-centered care.

In his medical practice, Jack emphasizes the importance of comprehensive skin exams using dermoscopy. Meta-analyses, including extensive Cochrane reviews, have consistently shown that this specialized tool significantly increases the accuracy of diagnosing skin cancer compared to visual inspection alone. He regularly treats a wide variety of conditions, including acne, rosacea, eczema, and psoriasis. Jack earned his Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University in 2019, following a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara. With over seven years of experience across Arizona and California, he has built a reputation for effective, compassionate care within San Diego County. He maintains active memberships in the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants to stay at the forefront of the latest clinical advances.

Outside the clinic, Jack enjoys staying active through scuba diving, hiking, strength training, and traveling.
